Skin Care mini Series Part 1

Have you ever seen a girl (or guy I guess) out in public with absolutely glowing skin? I certainly have and my instinct reaction is to hate them. I have struggled with some acne and acne scarring but recently my skin has been on a much better track. I’m going to start a mini-series to share with you all some helpful tips I have learned on how to get the best use out of your skin care products.

Today we will start with the basics… Facial Cleanser!

  1.  WASH YOUR HANDS! If your hands are dirty they could spread bacteria to your face.
     2. REMOVE YOUR MAKEUP! Even though facial cleansers are made to remove makeup they will work better if you remove the make-up prior to washing. Makeup Wipes are simple to use (Baby wipes do the same thing) and so are cleansing oils.
     3. WASHING YOUR FACE! Luke warm water is always the best option. It allows your pores to be opened up to remove the dirt and oil in there. Cold water closes pores while Hot water can damage skin. Apply the cleanser with fingers (gentle touch!) and go in circular motions. Then I always leave the cleanser on my face for 30 seconds to one minute to allow it to soak in. Splash your face with the lukewarm water until you feel the cleanser is gone. Then splash your face a few times with cold water… yepp I said it! This will close the pores and increase blood circulation.

Even though washing your face seems so simple, now you girls know how to get the best use out of your cleanser! Below are some products I absolutely love. I have included some for different skin types as well.
