Hits & misses volume 1

Hi everyone! I have decided that I am going to do a weekly ritual highlighting some of my favorite products of the week… and some I did not like so much. I will do a mini review with each and as always if you want to see a more in-depth review just let me know!

“Get it girl” products

Burts Bee’s 100% natural tinted lip balm in hibiscus has been a staple for me this week. I am a total lipstick kind of gal but lately my lips have been chapped and flakey. This lip balm conditions while adding the perfect color. It is a medium rose color that adds that “my lips but better effect.” This is comparable to the Revlon lip butters but definitely more conditioning. It is around 8 dollars and can be found at drugstores.

Aveeno Smart Essentials nighttime moisture infusion is my night cream of choice currently. It has a pleasant smell which I thoroughly enjoy because no one likes smelling like a perfume store. This cream is not too heavy for my skin and soaks in very easily without leaving me feeling greasy. It is loaded with vitamins and antioxidants that work during the night while my skin is regenerating. I have acne prone skin and have not suffered any breakouts from this product. In the morning I find my face has a slight glow and I thank this nighttime cream for it. It is around $12.00 and can be found at drugstores.

Anastasia Brow Powder duo in medium brown is my latest eyebrow obsession. This powder makes filling in my eyebrows a piece of cake! I simple use a slanted eyeliner brush and this powder to create the perfect brows. I unfortunately have one eye brow longer than the other due to a terrible waxing job (Nightmares still occur) but with this powder it is impossible to notice. Since it is a duo the shades can be mixed together to create the perfect color. I recommend this for girls who have not had much experience in filling in their brows. It runs $22.00 at Sephora but this powder will last me for months and months.

“NO WAY GIRL” products

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush was a total and complete fail for me. I purchased this blush in the shade orchid hush, which in the package looks gorgeous. It’s a blue-toned pink that appears slightly violet in the pan. First of all the texture of this blush is just plain WEIRD. It is literally bouncy. It feels like a powder/gel/cream all in one… and no this isn’t a good thing. I had to wipe my fingers over the blush several times before I got any color pay off. It did not show up at all on my slightly pale skin which says something. While I do applaud Maybelline for all of the beautiful blush colors, the texture is too difficult to work with making this product not user-friendly and just kind of awkward. I think it was around 8 dollars at the drugstore but I don’t want to officially check to find out how much I wasted on it.

This was my only miss of the week which makes me a very happy girl!

Until Next time..Xo
